Product Overview

Mylar Tape, also commonly known as Polyester Insulation Tape, Mylar Film Tape, Transformer Tape, or Silicone-Coated Mylar Tape, is a high-performance, single-sided insulating tape designed for demanding electrical and electronic applications-especially in new energy battery systems.

This tape is manufactured using polyester (PET) film as the backing material, coated with a high-temperature-resistant acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. It offers excellent thermal resistance, dielectric strength, flame retardancy, and chemical stability, making it ideal for high-voltage and high-reliability environments.

Storage & Handling Recommendations

To ensure optimal performance and service life, please follow these storage and handling guidelines:

Store Mylar tape in a warehouse away from direct sunlight and rain. Avoid contact with acids, alkalis, oils, and organic solvents. Keep the environment clean and dry, with a distance of at least 1 meter from heat sources. Recommended storage temperature: -15°C to 40°C.

Store the tape in rolls without folding. For long-term storage, rotate the rolls quarterly to maintain tape quality.

During loading and unloading, use lifting equipment with spreader beams to ensure stable handling. Avoid rough handling that may damage tape edges or cause roll deformation.

Select the appropriate tape type and specification based on actual application requirements and operating conditions.

Do not splice or combine different types, specifications, tensile strengths, or layer structures of Mylar tape together.

For conveyor or joint applications, hot vulcanization bonding is recommended to improve reliability and maintain effective strength.

Ensure that conveyor roller diameters meet relevant technical standards to prevent excessive stress on the tape.

Prevent belt misalignment or creeping. Maintain proper tension and ensure rollers rotate smoothly.

Avoid excessive abrasion from baffles or cleaning devices installed on conveying systems.

Clean operating conditions are essential. Foreign particles can cause misalignment, uneven tension, or even tape failure.
