Last week, the 2025 Shenzhen International Film & Tape Expo - known as the "Canton Fair of the tape industry" - came to a successful close. Both booth occupancy and visitor traffic reached pre-pandemic levels, marking a strong recovery for the industry.
This year's exhibition revealed two notable trends:
√Domestic companies took the lead - showcasing a complete industry chain from coating equipment and pressure-sensitive adhesive raw materials to finished tape products.
√High-end transformation accelerated - high-performance tapes once exclusive to global giants were widely seen across the show floor. Among them, acrylic foam tapes, foldable-screen OCA, and "electrolyte adhesive" tapes were the most frequently highlighted categories.
Another major highlight was TESA's first participation through its Industrial Distribution and Converting Division, a move that drew significant attention. Similar in positioning to 3M's IATD, this division focuses on the traditional industrial adhesive market, aiming for higher shipment volumes through cost-effective solutions. Industry observers believe this reflects a more aggressive direction under TESA's new leadership - and signals that a new round of competition in the industrial tape sector is on the horizon.
